Nevermind...

Jim Wells doesn't retire. Bama fans said to still be pissed as the new old coach is still not the bear. Wells was said to be swayed back to T-town by the promise of a new suite. He probably thinks they mean adding to the baseball stadium. In reality they have offered him a football suite...and not even one of the new ones. Think Mal Moore knows the difference between Jim Wells and David Hobbs? Do you think Mal Moore even knows David Hobbs isn't an employee of the University of Alabama anymore? Ya' think Mal Moore even knows that Bama has a basketball team? Anyhow.

Time for Jay's 10 songs you have to hear for the week of June 24-30:

1. Only The Lonely by The Motels

2. Remedy by The Black Crowes (what can I say)

3. This Time by Dwight Yoakam

4. Panic In Detroit by David Bowie

5. Long May You Run by Neil Young

6. Paralyzer by Finger Eleven (Billy D Anthem)

7. Angry Young Man by Billy Joel

8. Africa by Toto or Andy McKee

9. Steppin' Out by Joe Jackson

10. Mack The Knife by Bobby Darin

Eventually Bo will post on his blog...I think.

Until next time enjoy this little nugget of an exchange between Earl Weaver and AL umpire Bill Haller. If you'll notice, it's in the top of the first!!! GO A'S!!!

EXTREME LANGUAGE AND FUNNY AS ALL HELL NOTICE!! (Especially at 2:08 when the ump calls Earl out for "f'n up world series' ")

Jim Wells retires...

Mark Ethridge at SEBaseball.com reports that Jim Wells has retired as head baseball coach at Alabama.
Wells was hired at Bama in 1995 and won the SEC baseball tournament in 4 of his first 5 seasons (95, 96,97 & 99) including his first 3. Wells' Bama clubs in the 90's reached unpresidented heights for the program. The Tide advanced to Omaha in 1996, 1997 and 1999. They won 40+ games 6 straight seasons from 1995-2000 with the pinnacle being Bama's 1996 56 win team, a school record. That team reached the national championship game. Wells was named SEC coach of the year in 1996 and in 2002, and was named Southland Conference coach of the year in 3 of the 5 seasons has was at Northwestern State.
After last season Wells turned down the LSU job and was given a contract extension at Bama with a promise of facility upgrades.
The Out of Bounds staff was said to be "really broken up" at the departure of Wells. Jay White was overheard saying, "I heard the bear already turned the job down, so naturally Bama fan is pissed, and hates the new coach and he hasn't even been interviewed yet!"

Thanks for stopping by. We plan on updating this thing as close to daily as possible. We'll put our interviews in here as well as links to cool articles we find and figures and such that we use during the show. We'll also wax intelligent on sports a time or two. We'll also put in some random non-sports stuff so you don't overdose on pigskin. For example:

Jay's 10 songs you need to listen to this week (June 17-23):

1. Your Love by The Outfield

2. Whosever in New England by Reba McIntire

3. Ramble On by Led Zeppelin

4. This DJ by Warren G

5. Lodi by Credence Clearwater Revival

6. Act Naturally by Buck Owens

7. And So I Know by Stone Temple Polits

8. Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder
